Farmhouse Exteriors That'll Make You Want To Pull Over

A Little Goes a Long Way

There's no denying a farmhouse exterior is something special, even if we can't exactly put our finger on it. The farmhouse style is more so the location in which we find the house (these houses were, as the name implies, built to provide shelter for those working on a farm), but there are still a few style hallmarks that will make us stop in our tracks (or stop the car in the road). Whether it's a modern farmhouse exterior or rustic farmhouse exterior, just give us a gabled roof, wrap-around covered porch, big windows, siding, and a nice, neutral palette and we will be there in a jiffy to admire and quite possibly move ourselves right in. If you're dreaming of a farmhouse of your own, get inspired with these farmhouse exteriors and then go peruse our Southern Living farmhouse house plans to make your dreams a reality.

Farmhouses and cottages toe the line with each other when it comes to design, and this little one blends the styles charmingly. Excuse us while we curl up with a book and some tea on one of those porch swings.

You wouldn't have to tell us twice; we've already stopped the car. If every season is farmhouse-peeping season, then going during leaf-peeping season is just a double win.
