Céline Dion's Luxurious Florida Mansion Sells to Mystery American for $38.5 Million — Half Its Original Asking Price
After four years on the market, Celine Dion has sold her Jupiter Island home for $38.5 million — roughly half it's original asking price. The new owner is an unidentified American who wishes to use the property as a vacation home.
Beautiful Florida Estate
Dion put it on the market in 2013 at $72.5 million before cutting the asking price to $45.5 after husband René Angélil's death last year. She lowered it again in January. According to a report in the Montreal Gazette, the estate was sold last week after the additional 15% cut in price.
The Dining Room
The sale was initially announced on Facebook by Sotheby's International Realtor Joseph Montanaro, who represented the singer in the sale of her Normandy-styled chateau in Canada last year.
The custom-built, 13-bedroom, 14-bath estate features a 2-story main residence and two separate guest houses.
The Living Room
The couple bought into the exclusive area in two stages, buying their initial site for $ 5 million in 2004 and adding the adjacent lot for $7 million, four years later. They completed construction of the villa in 2010.
The 10,000-square-foot home sits on 5.7 acres and 400 feet of private Atlantic Ocean beach.
Other amentities include a tennis court, golf simulator, theatre, gym and arcade gameroom.
The swimming pools feature ocean vistas, private cabanas and are maintained by an eco-friendly geothermal heating system and a 30,000 gallon storage tank.
