Beautiful homes and breathtaking gardens? Check and check.
Flower enthusiasts, rejoice! Now that Spring has (finally) arrived, it’s time to stop and smell the roses, and there’s a charming coastal village in Cape Charles, Virginia that is making that easier than ever. From April 27th through the 29th, Bay Creek, one of our very own Southern Living Inspired Communities, is holding its annual Bay Creek in Bloom celebration, a weekend-long festival that honors the vision of its original, master-gardener developer. The festival is the perfect time for house hunters and non-house hunters alike to visit the charming village and see what Bay Creek is all about, from its top-notch golf course to its 2-mile private beach and everything in between. Roam the gorgeous streets and see over 250,000 roses blooming throughout the community, learn about local history, and even get a lesson in floral arrangements and springtime tablescapes from one of our favorite Southern ladies, Rebecca Lang.
As if that wasn’t enough to entice you, this year, as luck would have it, Bay Creek in Bloom coincides with the 71st annual Eastern Shore of Virginia House and Garden Tour, an annual one-day event that brings thousands of visitors to the gorgeous Virginia coast to see some of the most breathtaking homes in the region. Two of the six homes in the tour, called Serenity and Tides Pointe, are located in Bay Creek, showcasing the best that this historic area of the South has to offer. The House and Garden Tour will take place on Saturday, April 28th.
Bay Creek in Bloom is a free event open to all ages, and tickets for the Eastern Shore of Virginia House and Garden Tour can be purchased on their website. Start your Spring off right and don’t miss this one-of-a-kind, coastal event!
