Join our homes editor, Julia Hamilton, for a tour of our 2007 Kousa Creek Idea House.
Kousa Creek, our Georgia idea house, is exactly the kind of comfortable, welcoming cottage that so many of us would like to call home. Its location in the residential community of Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia, is a haven of natural beauty and enjoyable outdoor activities. The house gives a contemporary twist to familiar architectural elements. Such as dormer windows, clapboard siding, and stained lattice work. The two story porch reflects the Greek revival style of some of the charming old homes found in the area. The open floor plan encourages easy living on the main level. In the dining room, a built in banquet topped with plush cushions and pillows, provides seating beside the trestle table. Attractive all weather seating, a ceiling fan, and a working fire place make the porch comforatble throughout the year. Slender cabinets fitted with unique glass and wooden doors, flank the windows above the kitchen sink. The gorgeous granite countertops look up to date, and make great work surfaces. The master bedroom has its own porch, perched high in the tree tops. A sliding French door brightens the entire room. In the master bath, the tub is enclosed with wood and is free standing. The floor tiles are laid in a herring bone design that continues up the wall behind the tub. The loft connects the upstairs bedrooms and makes a great spot to relax. It uses the same style of Chippendale railing that's found out front. The girls' room with its patterned bed linens, is colorful and bright. The boys' room has a relaxed nautical look. Thanks so much for touring our Georgia idea house. We hope you'll get to visit in person.
