As summer begins its slow roll into fall in what we can safely say has become the weirdest year ever, the anticipation we normally feel at the start of our favorite season might be a little muddied. Right now, we'd normally be planning for our big Halloween bash—the one we look forward to all year long. The candy for the kids' school exchange would be piling up in the pantry, and the brainstorming for the office costume party would be in full swing. But thanks to our new normal of social distancing and sheltering in place, there's a good chance most of that won't happen this year. Courtesy of Amazon But of course, it's not all disappointing. The glass-half-full side of us points out that the leaves will still change (swoon!), the pumpkin spice lattes will flow, and the house will make its usual transformation into autumn mode. As for the "costume" we'll be donning while pumpkin carving in our kitchens? Welp, that's where the Halloween housedress comes in. In what could be the most 2020 way of showing off your spooky spirit, Amazon has unveiled a flowy frock that's cute, festive, and irresistibly comfortable. Available in four frightful patterns (plus dozens of other cute-for-everyday styles and colors), the dress is equal parts practical and stylish. Courtesy of Amazon The return of the retro housedress is something we've ardently celebrated since the early aughts of quarantine. Less restricting than leggings and perhaps more appropriate for our new couch-to-video-conference realities, flowy dresses—from breezy maxis to roomy mumus—make a whole lot of sense as our 2020 uniform. (Plus, they give you the mood-boosting benefits of getting dressed without actually donning much more than a nightgown.) Truth be told, I discovered this particular little number months ago before its Halloween-themed variety was available. I own it in black, and can vouch for its quality, its cuteness, and its perfect mini length—not too long, not too short on my 5' 7'' frame. I liked it so much, in fact, that it's been sitting on my Amazon wish list waiting for me to devise an excuse to purchase another. Now thanks to their fabulously festive additions, it looks like I've found one. Anyone else ready to kick off the Halloween season in this crazy-but-cute getup? Purchase the Imysty Mini T-shirt Dress (or two of them…trust me) here for $27. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
