The Coziest Winter Nail Colors for January 2022

The Coziest Winter Nail Colors for January 2022

The beginning of a new year often has us all feeling like starting off fresh by taking on better habits, getting rid of old ones, and—most commonly—changing up our look. While others are hitting the squats and going into the salon for a pixie cut, why not start slow and steady with a cozy winter manicure in a color that feels new to you? It takes only a little courage to step outside your usual OPI Lincoln Park After Dark or Essie Bordeaux, which is all you need to kick 2022 off on a fanciful foot.  From new wintry takes on classic dark nail colors to unique pops of color that'll have you feeling the opposite of boring, these are the best nail colors to try this January and tick off all the way into spring.

16 Kitchen Design Trends Southern Designers Predict Will Be Everywhere in 2022

16 Kitchen Design Trends Southern Designers Predict Will Be Everywhere in 2022

There's no denying how the pandemic fundamentally changed the world—including how we live (and work) inside our homes. An overall trend toward celebrating the history and originality of our homes is displacing ultramodern aesthetics and sharp lines as we all look to create cozier, colorful, more personalized spaces that better suit our lifestyles. We're turning away from big-box stores and toward vintage items—first, out of necessity due to supply-chain issues, and now, for design reasons—to add charm and character to every room in the house, including the kitchen. Here, interior designers from around the South share their predictions for what's trending in kitchen design for 2022 and beyond.

When it's Christmas in the South, breaking out the punch bowl is just as much a holiday tradition as readying the heirloom Christmas china and doling out goody bags of rum balls. Depending on the occasion and crowd, we all have our holiday punch style, whether that entails those dotted with floating mounds of pastel sherbet, those spiced with cinnamon sticks and cloves, or even just a spruced-up version of our signature sweet tea and lemonade. No matter the chosen concoction, a bowl of Christmas punch serves more than one important purpose during the holiday season. It provides a festive centerpiece for the cocktail spread, makes party prep quick and easy, and leaves guests chock-full of seasonal spirit. That's a Christmas miracle in itself. This year, celebrate the season down to the very last drop with these delicious Christmas punch recipes without alcohol.

Christmas Sunrise

Ideal for Christmas brunch or lunch, this tropical, bubbly drink not only looks pretty, but tastes delicious. To get the layered "sunrise" look, slowly pour the tangerine juice over the back of a spoon into each glass; it keeps the juice from mixing with the cranberry syrup mixture.

We'll break out the punch bowl anytime for this pretty purple pick. The blend of cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, ginger ale, and homemade simple syrup looks as festive as a Christmas tree, especially with a pomegranate ice ring floating in the center. For a nonalcoholic twist, leave out the vodka and swap in sparkling water for the Prosecco.

Berry Splash

Pardon the name, this splash doesn't just belong to summertime. A cherry-cranberry concoction provides a tart and bright base, which is then garnished with fragrant mint and berries. Swap out the blueberries for cranberries if desiring a more Christmas-themed look.
