Holidays & Occasions Christmas Blue Bell Just Unveiled Two New Holiday Flavors By Melissa Locker Melissa Locker Melissa Locker writes about food, drinks, culture, gardening, and the joys of Waffle House Southern Living's editorial guidelines Published on October 29, 2018 Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Blue Bell Creameries Holiday creep is real. Starbucks released its Pumpkin Spice Lattes in August when we were all still planning our Labor Day cookouts and now, days before Halloween, Blue Bell has announced its holiday flavor. Apparently, it was beginning to look a lot like Christmas (in October) at everyone's favorite creamery. On Thursday, they released a new holiday flavor—Peppermint Bark Ice Cream described as a "mint ice cream loaded with dark chocolate chunks and tasty white chocolate containing crushed peppermint candies." The Peppermint Bark would be great on its own or paired with hot chocolate, scooped alongside a decadent chocolate cake, or turned into a Christmas cookie ice cream sandwich. It would also be a great addition to a sundae bar alongside Blue Bell's other seasonal treat, the Spiced Pumpkin Pecan ice cream it released in September and Blue Bell's returning flavor, the pink peppermint ice cream sprinkled with peppermint candy pieces that has become a new holiday favorite. One holiday flavor wasn't enough for the Texas-based ice cream factory, though. They also released a Christmas Cookie flavor that pairs a creamy, smooth sugar cookie ice cream with all your favorite cookies – chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and sugar – with red sprinkles and a green icing swirl. Peppermint Bark will be available throughout the 2018 holiday season, so make your grocery list, check it twice, and stock up now at a retailer near you. While holiday creep can make Christmas festivities seem less special, when it involves ice cream, we're more than happy to let it slide. Just be sure to leave a scoop or two under the tree for Santa Claus. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
