Learn how to slice vegetables with a Japanese mandolin with this tip from Test Kitchen Director Robby Melvin.
Japanese mandolin's one of my favorite kitchen tools. It's lightweight, maneuverable, and incredibly affordable. One of the best things about this is you can adjust the width of your vegetables by simply adjusting the blade. The vegetables make slicing easy. Because they have this great built in handle, that's perfect for uniform slicing, and keeping your fingers safe. Make a nice smooth and uniform slices. Going up and down the blade. Saftey first, when you get to the end, just simply to put it to the side. Then we have these beautiful, uniformly, thin sliced radishes. It's great for crudite and salads. [MUSIC]
