In just 4 easy steps, you have perfectly cut, sweet mango ready to add fresh tropical flavor to your favorite recipes.
Step 1: Slice the Mango
Stand mango up on its narrow side on a cutting board with the stem end facing away from you. Using a chef's knife, cut down the length of the fruit, about 1 inch from the stem and just grazing the pit. Repeat on the other side.

Step 2: Create a Criss-Cross Pattern
Place one mango half, cut side up, on the board. Using a paring knife, make 1/2-inch cuts in a criss-cross pattern in the flesh, stopping short of the skin.
