These Are The Best Shoes for Transitioning from Summer to Fall
And they’re on major sale.
“I ordered a pair of shoes, and they’re too big for me. Want to try them on before I send them back?”
This past weekend, the shoes in question were Sam Edelman’s Carrin Platform Espadrilles, and I’ve never been so happy to save something from my mom’s reject pile.
The kicks strike a trendy balance between slip-on-and-go sneaker and summery espadrille, marrying a suede upper with a one-and-a-half-inch straw platform.
As someone who counts espadrilles as one of summer’s style staples, I’m always a little melancholy when I have to stash them away at the end of the season. After all, striped canvas just doesn't feel right crunching through fallen leaves. But I won’t have to put away Sam Edelman’s smart take on the summer essential any time soon!
Thanks to their muted neutral hues (think saddle brown, putty gray, and dusty rose, for starters) and cool weather-appropriate suede, I’ll be able to wear this pair long into October, everywhere from football games to the pumpkin patch.
Not only are they two-season shoes (maybe three, if you choose a lighter colorway that would work for spring), they’re also incredibly comfortable, so they’re suited for running errands around town or scooting around the office all day at work. They’re super versatile, too, as cute with sundresses as they are with jeans.
*One quick note on sizing: If you have narrow feet, you may want to consider ordering down half a size from your usual. My mom typically wears a 9.5, and I usually wear a 10; the 9.5 fit my narrow feet just right, no toe-squishing involved.
Best of all, at only $54 on sale (and even cheaper on Amazon for some colors!), the price is right. Scoop up a pair before they disappear from the website … Buy now, thank me later.
