Kate Middleton’s Wrap Coat Is Out of Our Price Range, But These Equally Cozy Picks Aren’t
Your favorite duchess and ours was spotted at a public appearance sporting a flattering wrap coat with a shawl collar that we immediately had to have. Sometimes Kate surprises us with budget-friendly picks that we can actually afford (remember those Gap pants?), unfortunately, this was not one of those occasions. Even when her Sentaler wrap coat went on sale at Neiman Marcus recently, it was still far beyond reach. Armed with nothing but a borderline obsessive love of royal style and sheer will and determination, we were able to track down five lookalikes (ranging in price from $26 to $198) that we like to think would get Kate Middleton’s royal stamp of approval.
Sentaler Superfine Alpaca Wrap Coat With Ribbed Sleeves
For comparison purposes, we’ll start with the actual coat the duchess wore. The price tag is a far cry from our budget-friendly picks that follow, but it’s certainly gorgeous. We weren't able to find the coat in the flattering lilac shade Kate wore, but keep scrolling to see J.Crew's "magestic purple" pick that we're loving.

Wrap Coat in Boiled Wool
If you’re not familiar with boiled wool, we’re right there with you. According to J.Crew it’s a tightly woven fabric that provides warmth without the heft. This coat comes in four colors, but we’re partial to “majestic purple”—and we have a feeling Kate would be too.

In case you missed it, hygge basically elevates coziness to an art form, and this coat-cardigan hybrid does exactly that. Pair it with a wide belt by either overlapping the sides to create a wrap-coat look or belt the coat while it’s open, letting the collar extend past your shoulders.
