Editor-at-Large Jenna Bush Hager talks to three dynamic mother-daughter duos in her hometown of Dallas about bringing Lone Star State glitz to your party attire. Check out part one and part two of this three-part series.

DEEDIE AND LELA ROSE Philanthropist Deedie and her designer daughter Lela, at Lela's home

"We used to run around from one party to the next, and we felt like we never really got to see friends or family," Lela says of her previous holiday agenda. Now, the fashion designer and author of Prêt-à-Party: Great Ideas for Good Times and Creative Entertaining prefers arranging seated dinners for her friends and family, where everyone can connect and toast the New Year. The Roses strive to make every holiday celebration magical—and that includes wardrobe. "My mom always stresses the importance of being dressed," Lela says.

DEEDIE: "Top off your outfit with something unusual. Whether it's a scarf or a necklace, I always finish the look with something fun."

LELA: "Skip basic black, and opt for winter white and silver sparkles. It's a fresh and festive combination."
