Meet your warm-weather skincare hero.
When it comes to Kiehl’s line of skin care products, consider me a convert: I’ve hopped on the bandwagon; I’m drinking the Kool-Aid; and I’m sharing the good news with anyone who will listen. It started with Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, which I discovered thanks to a good friend with crystal clear skin. The wonder-working serum brightened and evened out my complexion so quickly that it won me over in a matter of days. So when the team at Kiehl’s reached out several weeks ago about the brand’s recently released Glow Formula Skin Hydrator, I nearly jumped out of my newly radiant skin to try it.
The Glow Formula Skin Hydrator is a 24-hour illuminating moisturizer with built-in antioxidant production (hello, anti-aging!) and a dose of pomegranate extract, which gives it a lightly fruity scent that feels just right for summer.
Six weeks into using it nearly every morning, I’m volunteering to serve as president of this moisturizer-meets-highlighter’s fan club. There are a number of ways you can use the lightweight lotion: You can wear it by itself; mix it with your moisturizer; use it as a foundation primer; or mix it with your foundation.
If I’m just running errands around town, I’ll pump a tiny dollop onto my finger and apply it all over my face. I’ll skip the rest of my makeup routine and let the Glow Formula do its thing, which gives me a look that’s totally natural, but more even-looking and dewy than my bare face would be. For work or dinner with friends, I’ll blend a teeny pump of the lotion into my liquid foundation and apply it all over my face and neck. While my foundation goes on smoothly on its own, adding the Glow Formula to the mix makes it glide on even more flawlessly. Winning!
But whichever way I choose to apply it, the results are the same: My skin feels moisturized and looks supple and dewy, with an understated glow. It’s a subtle shimmer—more of a youthful, sun-kissed warmth than an intense highlighting shine—that gives my face the radiant appearance of someone who exclusively drinks green juices and sticks to a sunrise yoga routine. Spoiler: I do neither.
It’s like Kiehl’s managed to bottle up summer sunshine in a tiny 1.7-ounce vessel, and I’m here to soak it all in. Buy it here ($38 for a 1.7-oz bottle), try it once, and I can guarantee you’ll be drinking the Kiehl’s Kool-Aid too.
