The nonprofit Junior League of Austin hosts one of Texas' hottest holiday soirees: A Christmas Affair. The fundraiser's schedule includes events like Market Days and a Sunrise Sip & Shop. The four-day event raises money to support FIT – Food in Tummies, Coats for Kids, and 35 other community nonprofits. With shopping parties, and children's events, this is the place to be this time of year in Austin, Texas. Stylist Laura Anderson, the co-owner of Austin's The Salon at The Domain, designed a half-up, boho-chic style to polish off an outfit with a perfect hint of seasonal flair for these casual events.

Step 1

Begin by dusting the roots of the hair with Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It. This product was designed with Texas volume in mind. It also gives your hair a matte look, which provides texture.

Step 2

Take a front section of hair from above ears on both sides, and loosely braid. You don't want braids that are too tight because they will create a harsh look instead of a casual, effortless style.

Step 3

Pull one braid back, and secure it with a bobby pin to the middle of head. Repeat on the other side, crossing the second braid over the first. This time, when securing the bobby pin, cross it over the first pin to create an X shape. There is no need to hide the bobby pin because it becomes part of the style. You can even use embellished bobby pins that coordinate with your outfit. Unbraid remaining hair that's below the bobby pins for loose waves.

Step 4

Use a curling wand to loosely curl rest of hair away from face. Run fingers through waves, and apply Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Air Pomade Wax Spray to finish look. This will add more texture and shine to your hairstyle.
