Here's Why You Should Add Dry Conditioner to Your Hair Routine
It's the real MVP.
Since I already love Amika products, including Perk It Up Dry Shampoo and The Shield Style Extending Spray, I was intrigued when I came across Amika Silken Up Dry Conditioner while browsing Sephora. I'm very familiar with dry shampoo, but I must say that I've never paid attention to dry conditioner. So, I decided to give it a whirl.
BUY IT: $24; sephora.com
To use, simply shake the can, hold 10- to 12-inches away from your hair, and spray from the middle to ends. Just like the rest of the Amika hair products, the first thing I noticed was the amazing scent. It's clean and pleasant without being overpowering. I also love that, just like the brand's dry shampoo, Amika Dry Conditioner is clear and leaves no trace of residue on my hair. After applying dry shampoo to soak up excess oil and refresh my roots, I applied the dry conditioner and it instantly brought life back to my dull, over-straightened strands. It made my damaged ends feel like they do after a fresh haircut at the salon. Not only do I recommend using the dry conditioner on second day hair, it's also great to add extra silk and shine to freshly washed hair. I certainly wasn't expecting this dry conditioner to tame frizz and keep my hair smooth after straightening, but I'll take it.
