Blogger We Love: Poor Little It Girl
It's pretty much common knowledge that I'm a sucker for a good deal; I can't even remember the last time I paid full price for an article of clothing. That's why I feel like I found my shopping soulmate in Cathy Anderson of Poor Little It Girl (how cute is that name?).
The Florida-raised, D.C.-based blogger showcases the most envy-inducing outfits created with pieces retailing under $100.
This year, Cathy, along with Atlanta blogger Jessica Carmenta of My Style Vita (more on her next week) launched the Southern Blog Society, a network for regional bloggers that are spotlighting the South's style and web community. Stylish and a team player—we love this girl!
Here Cathy dishes on her blog, fashion icons, and her go-to beauty line.
Girl behind the blog: Cathy Anderson
Lives in: Washington, D.C.
Her style: Feminine and classic with a touch of trendy
The praise: "My readers love that they can come to my site and get a quality and wallet-friendly find."
Online shopping: "I shop ASOS.com all the way! No one does it better than they do."
Style icon: "Carrie Underwood has always impressed me with her elegant and sexy style. She mixes Southern charm with Hollywood edge—it's flawless!"
Southern style: "Southerners as a whole like their clothing easy and simple with clean lines. You get cities like New York and L.A. that are trend-heavy with sexy silhouettes, but us Southern girls like things to be a bit more classic."
Bookmark list: "I have loved Cupcakes and Cashmere for years. It's the first blog I ever read and still provides so much inspiration."
Signature piece: "I have a giant tulle skirt (similar style) I purchased at Anthropologie about a year ago and whenever I wear it (see below) I feel like a ballerina."
Made in the south: I was introduced to HollyBeth Organics, out of Atlanta, about a year ago. Her products are all-natural and make my skin feel heavenly.
A Southern woman never leaves the house without: A brush and hair tie. The humidity in the South is like none other. Your hair can go from good to bad with one step out the door, so you need to always be prepared.
Making connections: We launched the site [Southern Blog Society] as a place for bloggers to network, find resources to build a better blog, and where brands can connect with individual bloggers. The response has been overwhelming!
Cathy shared her style inspiration, now share yours. What Southern bloggers do you love? Tell us and you may see them featured in an upcoming "Blogger We Love" segment.
