This Tarte Tinted Primer with SPF Has Saved My Skin This Summer
I used to always dread having to use foundation or sunscreen on sweltering hot summer days, although the latter is a non-negotiable step for any woman's skincare routine. Formulas I've tried in the past have left my face feeling oily and sticky, leaving me with a caked-on look by the end of the day. Lucky for me, that changed the second I used Tarte’s BB Tinted Primer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen (BUY IT: $37; sephora.com) for the first time. It’s become one of the few makeup products that I’ve continued to use this summer.
The formula is a moisturizer, primer, foundation, and SPF all-in-one. It can be worn under–or instead of–foundation and, in my case, has replaced both my foundation and face sunscreen altogether. The very first time I applied the primer, I was impressed with how easily the oil-free and seemingly weightless formula glided over my skin. It gave me a nice, even complexion in just seconds. It’s light enough to allow skin to breathe, but still provides enough coverage to cover imperfections. It also doesn’t settle into fine lines or pores so it ensures a cake-free look.
What I've been most impressed by is the staying power it has plus the sun protection it provides. I’ve worn it at the pool, lake, and beach all summer long. It's the ideal finish for a natural yet polished look. In all of these scenarios it stayed in place all day and I never had any trace of a sunburn, even after spending hours in direct sunlight.
The primer comes in five different shades and is available for $37 at sephora.com, tarte.com, and ulta.com. A quick scroll through the reviews shows I am not the only one who considers this formula a game changer. My only regret is that I didn’t find it sooner.
In my opinion, it’s worth every penny. It’s a hardworking product that gives me a smooth complexion and sun protection at the same time. It’s a win-win in my book.
