The Two Lip Colors That Got Me Through Memorial Day Weekend
Eat, drink, and be merry without compromising your pout
All Smiles Here
If your long weekend was anything like mine, you ate and drank your way through the Memorial Day holiday. From burgers on the grill to a few too many summer-inspired cocktails, there was always something hovering near my mouth. Usually, during these three-day vacations I’m always worried if my lip color is getting onto my teeth (or all over my face for that matter) but luckily, this year I prepared accordingly by trying out countless lasting lip formulas before my trip.
After a month of testing, these were the two brands that I made sure to pack:
Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint
Buy It: $24; sephora.com
Leave it Rihanna to create a dramatic red hue that’s designed to flatter every skin tone. This blood red liquid lipstick is for those times when you really want to make a statement. Its lightweight consistency glides onto your pout and its uniquely shaped applicator allows for precise application. Even after hours of wear, my lips still looked like they were freshly painted red.
CoverGirl Melting Pout Matte Liquid Lipstick
Buy It: $6.29; target.com
The name says it all: This creamy formula instantly melts in your lips. Unlike other liquid lipsticks, this one won’t have you reaching for tissue after tissue to blot off excess goop or clumps. There are twelve shades to choose from (I personally loved the coral), so you can have a different tube for every mood. The formula’s extra nourishing as well, so my pout never felt dried out or cakey.
