Jo Malone's New Lavender Fragrances Are Soothing and Serene
When you can’t jet off to the lavender fields of the English countryside, you can still perfume yourself in their fragrance. How? With the Jo Malone Lavenderland Collection, a selection of limited-edition colognes that pair lavender with other lovely notes to create dreamy fragrances that, as they say, write “a new lavender story.” Southern women have always been inspired by the fragrances found in our gardens. Many of our most-loved perfumes include blooming notes—blushing rose, blossoming peony, fresh lily—and now we can add serene lavender to that list.
The new collection is inspired by lavender, an aromatic herb that grows in lush, flowering mounds and is known to have soothing properties. Jo Malone says, “Follow us to Lavenderland. An enchanted world of violet visions, where English lavender meanders in purple pathways across the countryside.” Are you transported yet?
Each cologne in the collection approaches lavender differently. Silver Birch & Lavender opens with top notes of zesty grapefruit combined with heart notes of soft English lavender and base notes of deep, woody silver birch and roasted oak. Jo Malone describes this fragrance as “stimulating, fresh, and dashing.” Lavender & Coriander is an “aromatic, spicy, and striking” combination with notes of fresh, assertive coriander, floral English lavender, creamy tonka bean, and intensely earthy sage. The third cologne in the collection, Wisteria & Lavender, is described as “idyllic, dainty, and soft,” with notes of fresh, green English lavender, honeyed wisteria, heliotrope, and powdery white musk.
There’s even a pillow mist to help invite a soothing sleep. The collection includes a Lavender & Musk Pillow Mist in which “aromatic English lavender mingles with a cocooning note of musk to create a soft and sensual scent that helps the user relax and unwind for a good night’s sleep.”
