The leaves are starting to change down South. Our once vibrant green canopies are fading to a dry, brownish yellow, which only means one thing: The homestretch of summer has arrived—and it’s hot. Unlike our Northern friends who see beautiful changing leaves of red and orange as a harbinger of cooler days, sweater weather, and no-frizz hair; our faded Southern leaves this time of year are just Mother Nature’s way of sitting this one out (we’re with you, lady).

While some might be dusting off their fall wardrobes, we’re still in it down here—and will be for at least two more months. Luckily, I have a new obsession to help me make it through these dog days: Fresh Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream.

When I first opened the jar and took a gentle whiff, it brought me back to my childhood home in Florida and the scent of our massive orange tree in the backyard. I first tried it at night paired with my usual skincare routine (cleanser, toner, serum). The consistency is thick, but it glides on like a dream and begins to melt into skin almost immediately, leaving my face completely hydrated, but not sticky. The next morning I used it again with the same cleanser-toner-serum equation, but added in my SPF. The results were equally amazing but, as every woman knows, the real trick to moisturizers is finding one that works with your foundation—rather than against it. Vitamin Nectar passed the test. My foundation slid right on, but didn’t slide off. Plus, I didn’t have horrible creases under my eyes by noon, as has happened with other subpar moisturizers that don’t fully absorb into my combination skin.

I’m now on my second week of using Fresh’s newest moisturizer and my skin looks brighter and healthier. I’m no longer feeling like our exhausted Southern foliage. Instead, I’m refreshed, hydrated, and ready for the final phase of summer—let’s just hope it doesn’t drag on too long.
