While brown eyed girls may have had a song written about them, every Southerner born with baby blues knows that they were truly blessed when it comes to eye color. No matter if your pupils are an icy blue, sparkling sapphire, or a deep indigo, this recessive trait is meant to be shown off. Celebrity makeup artist Daniel Chinchilla shares the top makeup tips to keep your gaze the center of attention.

1. Bring On The Bronze

This shimmery metallic hue makes eyes seriously stand out and is subtle enough that it can be worn every day. "Try sweeping a little color on the eyelid and underneath your bottom lashes for extra pop," says Chinchilla. "Even a little eyeliner can do the trick—I love Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Roach."

2. Show Off Your Lashes

"When it comes to mascara, I always say go black for the most drama!" says Chinchilla. But don't be afraid of colored formulas like blue or purple. "This is great for someone who doesn't have time for eyeshadow and eyeliner, but wants to add some color to their eyes— these shades really make blue eyes stand out!" he explains.

3. Keep Brows Soft

You don't want your arches to overpower your look or take attention away from your eyes, so reach for a warmer toned eyebrow product, like Anastasia Beverly Hills's Brow Wiz in Caramel to define.

4. Orange Lipstick Is Your Friend

An orange lip color is an amazing way to accentuate baby blues. "I know this may sound scary, but there are so many shades of orange that range from natural to bright. Have fun with it!" says Chinchilla. For a softer hue, he recommends Chanel's Rouge Allure Intense Long Wear Lipstick in Pimpante and for a louder pout, try Maybelline New York's ColorSensational Vivids Lipstick in Electric Orange.

5. Never Stop Experimenting

From Reese Witherspoon to Nicole Kidman, there are so many blue-eyed ladies to draw beauty inspiration from. Don't hesitate to copy one of their looks— you never know what you might fall in love with. Also, if you're unsure of how a shade will look on, Chinchilla suggests using the MakeupPlus app that let's your virtually try out different colors.
