Southerners know how to throw a party, and Austin, Texas native Jenna Bush Hager is no exception to the rule. This Southern Living Editor-at-Large loves to bring friends together for a meal, and she's got a few great tips on how to pull of the perfect soiree. "I feel like any time you can have queso, guacamole, and margaritas you should," she says. Jenna talks about the difference in throwing a dinner party in New York, where she currently lives, and in Texas. While she'd opt to seat her guests to encourage conversation up north, the South has a more laid-back, relaxed style that translates wonderfully into playful get-togethers and outdoor barbecues. "We want people to feel like they can take their shoes off, they can spill, they can have fun, and that it's a low-key night," she told us recently in Texas. Hosting a Southern gathering is all about the fellowship, and one thing that fosters fellowship without fail is a great menu. Jenna mentions that you can never go wrong with a cheese plate – "especially a truffle cheese!" What are your best entertaining tips?
