As a student, one of the best things about a new school year is getting to use brand new school supplies. After you've sorted through any leftover supplies from previous years, use this list as a guide to start purchasing supplies that are needed for the new school year. While your child's teacher will most likely provide a list that includes more specific supplies closer to the start of the school year, these are the basic supplies you can stock up on now when you're placing an Amazon order or find yourself walking past the school supply aisle at the store. Many states will also offer a Tax-Free weekend for school supplies to help families stock up for a new year without paying any state sales tax, so keep an eye out for dates for your state.

We hope this list will serve as a guide for your back-to-school supply shopping this year. Maybe, for once, we won't end up with a bag of random, unopened supplies at the end of the school year. Here's hoping!
