An adorable beagle puppy named Buttermilk is getting a lot of attention after a video of her daring attempted escape from a southern Virginia animal shelter went viral this week.

Adorable Beagle Puppy's Daring Escape Goes Viral

Isle Of Wight County Animal Shelter in Virginia shared a Facebook video of the naughty pooch scaling the front of her four-foot cage, then perching atop it and staring guiltily at the staffer who caught her in the act.

"For some strays, we can only assume how they come into our care... however lately Buttermilk has shown staff just how she probably ended up with us," the shelter wrote alongside the clip that has already racked up more than 100,000 views in just a few days.

After checking her over thoroughly, volunteers determined the amateur escape artist was unhurt, and moved her to a kennel that can contain her mighty super powers.

Luckily for Buttermilk, she won't be caged in for much longer. Emily Glickman, a caretaker at the shelter told USA Today that the bold beagle was claimed by an adopter days before her viral feat. Her new owner plans to take her home after her spay surgery. We hope that wherever she's going it has a big backyard with a very, very high fence!
