Watch Martina McBride Brighten Up the Day for One Quadruple Amputee Super Fan
We're betting this was her most meaningful tour stop of the summer.
To steal a line from Martina McBride's own song, "Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world." And for one fan of the country star going through a hard time, McBride was able to wipe away any pain—and bring a whole lot of love—in the house.
In partnership with her charity, Team Music Is Love, McBride stopped by Ohio State University Medical Center to brighten up the day of Sandy McGee. McGee has been recovering from the recent amputation of all four of her limbs. An ever-devoted McBride fan, she had been telling the medical staff for months that one of her big goals was to be well enough to make it to an upcoming McBride concert.
When Team Music Is Love and McBride got wind of the news, they knew they wanted to do something special for McGee on her tour stop in Zanesville, Ohio. About an hour away from McGee at OSU Medical Center, McBride and her team stopped by to surprise McGee with an afternoon of fun and cheer that she and her family will never forget.
"You can't not feel good...listening to her music," said McGee, visibly moved by the singer's visit. Her daughter Amanda added, "Having Martina come, was a bright spot in a rough, rough year." For icing on the cake? McGee was able to hit her goal and make it to McBride's show.
