“One year ago, my old life ended and my new life began…” Thus begins the first full-length trailer introducing season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Amy Sherman-Palladino’s eight-time Emmy Award-winning series about a fledgling comic struggling to make it in the 1950s New York comedy scene. The season two trailer has just been released, as has the season’s premiere date. Mark your calendars: You can expect the new season on December 5 of this year.

Season two drops viewers back into the life of Miriam “Midge” Maisel and the quirky cast of characters that peoples her life. According to Amazon, “After Midge's triumph at the Gaslight, the fallout from her takedown of Sophie Lennon looms large, making her climb up the comedy ladder more challenging than ever. As the actual grind of being a comic begins to take its toll on Midge, the pressure to come clean to her family weighs on here—especially as her choices have a ripple effect on everyone around her.”

After taking home eight awards at the 2018 Emmys—including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for star Rachel Brosnahan, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Alex Borstein—The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is back with more laughs, more hijinks, and more of the characters we’ve come to know and love.

The new season will premiere on December 5, 2018, and you can find it then on Amazon Prime Video. In the meantime, be sure to catch up on season one (you can find it on Amazon Prime Video too) so that you’re ready to dive back into the show when the season two is released in December.
