When Santa Claus stopped by Widewater Elementary School in Stafford, Virginia last week, first grader Jackson Rescott had no idea his Christmas wish was about to come true.

"I want an Xbox One for Christmas," Jackson said during Santa's visit. "I also want my dad." (Watch the video at NBC Washington.)

Well, he didn't have to wait long, because the man in the big red suit was actually his dad, Marine Staff Sgt. David Rescott! As Sgt. Rescott removed his disguise layer by layer, little Jackson's jaw dropped and his eyes filled with tears. The pair shared a sweet hug and exchanged "I love yous" after the reveal.

The marine, who was originally scheduled to return home from deployment in Kuwait after the holidays, decided to surprise his son when he learned that his plans had changed.

"All holiday season, ‘What do you want for Christmas?' ‘It's been ‘daddy, ‘daddy, ‘daddy,'" Jackson's mom said, according to NBC Washington.

"I was excited because I hadn't seen my dad in a long time," the emotional first grader said after the homecoming.

We think it's safe to say that Jackson is on the nice list this year and will definitely be getting that Xbox!
