Holiday hospitality—the royal way.

Each Christmas season, we look forward to watching festive movies with friends and family. Christmas movie marathons fill our television screens, and every year we make plans to gather at the theaters with our loved ones to see the latest releases of the holiday season. It’s no surprise that our across-the-Atlantic neighbors enjoy celebrating much the same way, and we're delighted to hear that there’s a movie marathon fit for royalty happening at Kensington Palace this year.

The official London residence of Prince William, Duchess Kate, Prince Harry, and Duchess Meghan is inviting the public in to watch holiday movies and celebrate the season. Each night, there will be two screenings in a pop-up movie theater, the Luna Winter Cinema, which is located next to the palace in the Pavilion on the Orangery Lawn. The Luna Bar will also be open onsite to serve popcorn, hot cocoa, and mulled wine. (You can find tickets here.)

Incidentally, the royals' taste in holiday movies is impeccable, and their lineup is inspiring our to-watch list all season long. Classics like Miracle on 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life will be screened alongside new favorites like Elf and The Holiday—even Die Hard. The cinema’s schedule is as follows:

Home Alone, 5:00 p.m., December 17
The Greatest Showman, 8:30 p.m., December 17
Miracle on 34th Street, 5:00 p.m., December 18
Die Hard, 8:30 p.m., December 18
Elf, 5:00 p.m., December 19
The Holiday, 8:30 p.m., December 19
The Muppet Christmas Carol, 5:00 p.m., December 20
Love Actually, 8:30 p.m., December 20
The Nightmare Before Christmas, 5:00 p.m., December 21
Elf, 8:30 p.m., December 21
It's a Wonderful Life, 5:00 p.m., December 22
Home Alone, 8:45 p.m., December 22

We’re thinking about adding all of these family-favorite films to our queue to watch throughout the season. We’re also dreaming of holiday movies alongside our favorite royals, how about you? If you’re in London, you should seek out tickets and stop by. Happy Holidays!
