She may be 87 years old now, but Lura Adkisson still has plenty of high school spirit.

Over Thanksgiving, Adkisson's granddaughter, Kimberly Davison, shared a video of Lura performing one of the routines from her time as a cheerleader at Tuscola High School in Texas. In no time, the footage of her adorable grandmother went viral.

Davison says she was simply preserving a memory of her grandmother and never expected it to spread like it did. "I just thought that someday, I'm going to look back and wish I had recorded that," she told KTAB. "So, I just quickly stopped her. It was a spur of the moment thing, and asked her to do the cheer for us."

"She's so loving and kind," she added. "She's the matriarch of our family."

Adkisson performed the cheer again for KTAB, and she even donned her original cheerleading uniform from 1942. "I loved all of my classmates, and I loved the school," she told the reporter. "I remember looking at them handsome boys. They sure were handsome in their football suits."
