The Most Dramatic Before and Afters From Last Night’s Fixer Upper Season Finale
The Exterior Before
Dilapidated is one way to put it. The wood house was buckling in the middle and essentially needed to be rebuilt from top to bottom in order to bring it up to code. We have to admit, when we first saw the exterior we had a moment of doubt as to whether the Gaines would be able to pull this one off. It was short-lived, of course.
The Exterior After
We could hardly believe our eyes either. A wide front porch, metal roof, and fresh color palette give major curb appeal and make this home virtually unrecognizable from the teardown it once was.
The Living Area Before
There wasn’t anything livable about this living room. It was an utter disaster littered with trash and building supplies.
The Living Area After
Clean lines, fresh décor, and eye-catching details (hello, vintage map—now that’s an idea) create a space where we wouldn’t mind unwinding.
The Kitchen Before
No, you’re not missing something—there was no kitchen to speak of. What would become the heart of the home was just a blank canvas for Joanna and Chip to work some of their Fixer Upper magic.
The Kitchen After
This huge island with a waterfall countertop is the stuff of our dreams. The open concept kitchen has more storage than initially meets the eye. An industrial floating shelving unit above the island, open shelves surrounding the range, and a large pantry cabinet show that it was designed with function in mind.
