These Limited Edition Notebooks Are Inspired by America's National Parks
They make great gifts for the outdoorsy adventurers in your life.
For those who enjoy taking the path least traveled, here’s a collection of notebooks celebrating the beauty of the American landscape. The Field Notes National Parks Series Memo Books provide places to scribble observations, plans, and musings during outdoor adventures, and they’re covered with illustrations of some of America’s greatest resources, its stunning national parks.
Even if you’d rather book a hotel than pitch a tent, these notebooks will allow you to take a reminder of the wonders of the natural world with you wherever you go. Although, according to Field Notes, they’re particularly perfect for trips to the parks they depict: “Each book features a brief history of the park on its inside back cover, a spot for the official National Park Passport Stamp on the inside front cover, and 48 pages […] marked with a 3/16" graph to record your plans, routes, notes, and memories.”
Why national parks? Field Notes quotes writer Wallace Stegner on that point: “National Parks are the best idea we ever had. Absolutely American, absolutely democratic, they reflect us at our best rather than our worst.” To celebrate America’s national parks, Field Notes promises to “donat[e] five percent of retail and wholesale purchases to the National Parks Service, to help preserve and expand on our nation’s best idea.”
The notebooks are a collaboration between Field Notes and Fifty-Nine Parks. The collection is built upon Field Notes’ classic Memo Books and feature illustrations of twelve national parks. The notebooks come in packs of three: Series A features Yosemite National Park, Zion National Park, and Acadia National Park; Series B features Grand Canyon National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and Mount Rainier National Park; Series C features Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Yellowstone National Park; and Series D features Grand Teton National Park, Arches National Park, and Sequoia National Park. You can also find prints, posters, pennants, and bandanas featuring illustrations, maps, and other designs at 59parks.net.
