Parton will reportedly join her friends and collaborators, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, in the last episode of the popular Netflix series. Fonda teased the legend's long-rumored cameo in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "It's not just the fact that Dolly shows up. It's how she shows up. What the story is that brings her on. It's just beyond perfect," Fonda told ET. "We were both just so moved when she turned that chair around and there she was." In a recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Fonda promised that Parton's appearance "will knock your socks off." Fonda, Parton, and Tomlin have stayed close since they appeared together in 1980's groundbreaking comedy 9 to 5. "She's on the last episode. And that was one of our favorite episodes," Tomlin said. "We really loved doing that and having Dolly there." "We'd done things together in the recent past, like presented on award shows and stuff like that," she continued. "It seemed right."
