Justin Moore may be known for his decade-long career in country music with hits like "Small Town USA" and "You Look Like I Need A Drink" – but at home, he's known as Dad. The Poyen, Arkansas native (and current resident!) is married to his wife of ten years, Kate, and they have four young children: Ella Cole, Kennedy Faye, Rebecca Klein, and new son Thomas South. Rounding out their family are two dogs – Johnny and June. Although Justin just wrapped his Hell On A Highway tour and is getting ready to release a new country album in late 2018, he is dedicated to fatherhood, especially having such an incredible father himself.
"My dad specifically told me when I was probably 12, 13, 14 years old that I could do anything or be anything that I wanted to do or be," he said. "As I apply it to my own life I would have to say that that would be the best advice because I've proven to myself that what they told me has been proven true. Being a father now, [what] I love most about my dad [is that] my dad loves me more than anything in this world. Again, being a father now, he's taught me the love that a father should have for his children."
Justin is passionate about his traditions, as well, emphasizing that he hopes his children learn every Southern value as they grow up. "I think probably the one that is maybe most important to me is manners. As a guy I was taught to open doors and never walk in front of a lady. Yes ma'am, yes sir. No ma'am, no sir. Please, thank you, et cetera. And that's still a work in progress in my home but we do work on it daily. [Maybe] we do have some shortcomings in the South, but manners we're not short on."
