‘Fixer Upper' may be ending, but Chip and Joanna Gaines are showing no signs of slowing down. Next Tuesday, October 17th, Chip's new book Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff, will be released, and the 42-year-old dad is toasting his latest tome in a major way.

Last week, he penned a thoughtful note on instagram with a picture of himself in front of his alma mater, Baylor University.

"In college one of my lifelong dreams of playing baseball didn't quite play out how I'd hoped it would. But had it not been for that Baylor baseball team, I never would've fallen in love with Waco, Texas," he wrote. "And without Waco, I never would've met Jo. My point is that taking the first step toward a dream is the hardest part. The fear of failure will eat you alive if you let it. But even if it doesn't play out, keep your head up. I find success is just around the corner."

Indeed, from the Cameron Park Zoo and Waco Mammoth National Monument to the Dr. Pepper Museum, there's no shortage of reason to fall in love with this central Texas town perched on the Brazos River.

Chip shared the heartfelt note in honor of a contest he's kicked off at to celebrate his new book. The contest asks fans to make a video describing a dream of theirs—whether it's a unique business idea or wild fantasy of skateboarding across America—for an opportunity to make it a reality.
