On the 10th anniversary of his father's death, Dierks Bentley paid tribute to him in an Instagram post that was heartwarming, sweet, and a little naughty.

As Good Morning America reported, Leon Bentley passed away on June 1, 2012, at the age of 88.

The country star shared a series of photos on Instagram that paid tribute to his father, Leon, and gave fans a little peek into how he was raised. The first image shows his father giving the toddler Bentley a sip of his beer while sitting on his dad's lap. The second and third photos show Bentley with a big old grin on his face. "Funny how a good cold beer has always had the same effect on me!" Bentley wrote in the caption. It is exactly the kind of reaction you'd expect from the person who would eventually write the hit song, "Beers on Me".

In the heartfelt post, Bentley thanked his father for introducing him to country music (and beer). Bentley transformed that taste of country music into a music career that includes 17 number one hits, platinum albums, multiple awards, and songs like "Drunk on a Plane" and "Country & Cold Cans."

While the photos were meant to be comical, the feeling behind them was genuine. In the caption, Bentley wrote, "Dad past away ten years ago today. Think about him every day. Find myself wanting a little more advice now than I wanted back then!""My dad is the one that initially turned me on to country music, just by listening to it in the car. I remember him saying he liked that even if you didn't know the song, if it was written right, you could still sing along and guess some of the words," he continued. "Miss him, wish the kids could have had a little more time with Granddude. Thanks for being a good dad….Dad!"
