BBQ and Blues. What a perfect way to end a Southern summer.

If you'll be in Texas for Labor Day Weekend, you're in luck. Find world-class BBQ and the best blues music at Labor Day Weekend's Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival. From September 2-4th, over 20,000 music and food lovers from all over the world will flock to Bedford, Texas for three days of live entertainment from blues and rock musicians. And, of course, BBQ.

Headlining this year's festival are Dr. John and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. These legends lead an impressive roster that includes Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, Janiva Magness, and a host of local talent, including The Stratoblasters, Mike Morgan and The Crawl, Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat, Bnois King Blues Band, Tutu Jones & His Twisted Soul Band, Pat Boyack, Joey Love, EJ Matthews, and Dylan Bishop.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue headlines Saturday night at 9:15 pm, bringing the same New Orleans-style blend of jazz, funk and blues that he's brought around the world, from the U.S. to Japan and Russia and back again.

And did we mention the BBQ?

While the world-class blues musicians play on stage, world-class BBQ pit masters cook in the Kansas City Barbecue Society BBQ Competition. The cook off, which has been featured on several TV shows across the U.S. and Canada, features some of the best BBQ pros in the world. And you can get in on the action – the BBQ dishes will be available for guests to sample during the People's Choice Event.

The gates to this heavenly event open at 2 pm across from the Bedford City Hall Complex, 1951 L. Don Dodson Drive. Individual tickets are available starting from $7.00 here.
