Still have an office cookie swap on deck? Or contemplating what treat to leave out for Santa? Simply looking to upgrade your holiday cookies baking repetoire? Joanna Gaines has you covered, and they come in the form of these dainty chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies.

"Nothing says Christmastime quite like a kitchen full of freshly baked cookies, and this year we're putting a little twist on a classic favorite: shortbread cookies! This recipe is from the Magnolia Table cookbook, and to add something fun for the holidays, we're dipping them in chocolate and sprinkling on some festive toppings," Gaines writes in a new post in her At Home blog.

The cookie dough only requires a few ingredients — all-purpose flour, sugar, kosher salt, salted butter, pure vanilla extract — and the chocolate glaze is made from chocolate chips and vegetable shortening. Toppings-wise, Gaines encourages readers to have fun brainstorming. In the article, Gaines suggested crushed peppermint, crushed toffee and toasted pecans, chopped toasted pistachios, and flaked sea salt to get your wheels turning.

You can get the recipe on her blog here, where she also posts handy recipe cards for the cookies and glaze. While you're on a Jo kick, pick up a copy of Magnolia Table and treat yourself to a much deserved present, Gaines-lovin' gals.
