Camila Alves & Texas Bloggers Inspire Dreamy Holiday Tables
The Holiday Table Designers
Meet Camila Alves
"My favorite things about the holidays are spending time with family that you don’t get to see too often and the giving spirit that everyone carries throughout the season. It’s a beautiful thing to see and I wish more people would carry that same spirit throughout the whole year."
"I like to keep it fun. I use items that usually would not be at a table, but not overcrowding the space. I love using unusual fresh flowers or fruits to add a special touch to the table. Prepping is key. For the table, I usually set everything up the day before. Prep everything, store it in the correct place and reset the table the next day. That way I don’t have to try to figure things out the day of my guests’ arrival."
Meet Camille Styles
"I’m very driven by seasonality and get inspired by the natural materials that I see when I step outside my door. I love centerpieces that reflect what’s currently in season: berries and pomegranates can be incorporated into a centerpiece, and pinecones and evergreen branches are beautiful tucked around platters on the table."
"The holidays are definitely the most magical time of the year for hosting a party — it’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate tradition and infuse it with a few modern elements, too! For me, entertaining is about inviting family and friends (new and old) into your home and creating great memories together. No matter the occasion, my goal is always to encourage people to kick off their shoes, have a glass of wine, and linger around the table long after dessert is served."
Personalize The Table
"I think it’s really fun to add a personal touch to the table with fun place cards that identify guest seating. This can be as simple as a handwritten paper cutout, or it can be a bit more elaborate and double as a party favor. At the holidays, I love to choose an ornament that reminds me of each guest, then place it on their napkin with a little name tag tied on."
