As a young girl Barbara Peake Wise would follow her forester father through the woods as he inspected trees. Absorbing this love of nature, she pursued horticulture through Auburn University, her Master Gardening certification, and ten years in professional greenhouse growing. For over twenty years Barbara used her horticulture expertise in residential and commercial design and maintenance with the goal of creating that same love for nature she absorbed as a young girl. While working in professional landscape maintenance, she also taught classes for the communities in which she worked or lead seminars for the maintenance teams of landscaping companies. Her hands-on and educational approach earned her the nickname of "The Flower Lady" throughout the middle Tennessee area and to those who recognized her work but couldn't always remember her name.
