Built on a lifetime of experience and 25 years in the business, Sheri Castle is a respected and accomplished award-winning food writer, cookbook author, recipe developer, cooking teacher, and media host.



  • Sheri Castle is the author of multiple cookbooks. The New Southern Garden Cookbook was named Southern Cookbook of the year and a NYT notable book. The Southern Living Community Cookbook was an IACP finalist.

  • SIBA 2012 Cookbook of the Year Award for The New Southern Garden Cookbook
  • The Southern Living Community Cookbook: Celebrating Food and Fellowship in the American South was a finalist for a 2014 IACP excellence award.
  • In 2015, Sheri was one of seven writers in the country accepted to the inaugural session of the Southern Foodways Alliance’s nonfiction writing workshop at the Rivendell Writers' Colony.
  • Sheri won the 2011 AIWF Foundation Scholarship for Recipe Writing presented in honor of Julia Child.
  • She was on the Gilt Taste team that won the 2012 Bert Green Journalism New Media Award for instructive food articles with recipes from the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP).
