Lucy Buffett

Lucy Anne "LuLu" Buffett enjoys "living out loud" from her Gulf Coastal Alabama home to her island retreat in Key West, Florida. A self-proclaimed gypsy rebel, reluctant entrepreneur and sauté cook, her passions include swimming in warm bodies of turquoise salt water, singing 70's music loudly alone in her car, but most of all, cooking for the people she loves. When she is not overseeing all things LuLu's, her three Gulf Coast restaurants, she can be found on a porch or balcony, pinching herself as she ponders her crazy blessed life of writing stories and recipes that she can't believe anyone would want to read.
Lucy Buffett is famous for her dark-roux winter gumbo—a heady collision of cayenne, bacon fat, and filé powder—has been something of a culinary lodestar.
