Maya Jones and Joseph Strzempka were introduced in college and continued to date long distance for several more years. Despite the distance, the couple spent almost every weekend together, with one of their favorite pastimes being trips to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The most memorable day at the museum ended with Joe getting down on one knee on the front steps.

"When I looked over at him, he was kneeling down," the bride says. "He began to say something, but before he could propose I ripped off my gloves! I was so overwhelmed and overcome by joy that I couldn’t control myself."

The couple exchanged vows at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Chester, Maryland, and had an outdoor dinner reception following at a private residence overlooking The Chesapeake Bay. Area photographer Karena Dixon spent the day capturing Maya and Joe's special moments. For more photos and information, visit our gallery.
