Here's our shortlist of can't miss spots in a city that's packed with things to experience. The best way to explore Charleston is on foot. Start by strolling along the Battery, taking in breath taking views of the water, and the state's namesake, palmetto trees. You can't miss the neighborhood south of Broad, admiring some of the finest residential architecture in the country. To get the inside scoop from the locals, we recommend Oyster Point Walking Tours. Nearby Bob Ellis Shoes is an institution mixing classics like Menolas and up and comers like Elizabeth and James, but put those heels in your bag, ladies. Charleston's cobblestone streets call for flats. Rest your head at boutique hotel Zero George, set in a private, landscaped courtyard. Your room will be in one of five historic buildings. Things, so you'll feel like a real Charlestonian as you sit on your piazza. Or for luxury Victorian style, be sure to check out the Wentworth. There's no better way to finish a day in Charleston than with a beverage. Stop by The Gin Joint for one of their craft cocktails.
