After a day or two of walking Savannah's cobblestone streets, indulge your tired muscles at one of its fine spas. You don't have to spend a lot of time or money, just treat yourself to something special. And remember, you deserve it.

Vanilla: A Downtown Day Spa

Where: 1 East Broughton Street; www.vanilladayspa.com or (912) 232-0040.

Atmosphere: You wouldn’t expect to find such a harmonious day spa on a busy downtown sidewalk. Vanilla is tiny, but what it lacks in size, it makes up in its array of exquisite services.

Specialties: Deep-tissue massage combines soothing strokes and intense muscle work for athletic body types ($75 for an hour). The Lunchtime Express Facial ($45) includes cleansing, steaming, and a soothing mask.

Savannah Day Spa

Where: 18 East Oglethorpe Avenue; www.savannahdayspa.com or (912) 234-9100.

Atmosphere: The spa boasts elegant rooms, bold architecture, and sparkling chandeliers.

Specialties: Couples adore the Blooming Romance package that includes body scrubs, aromatherapy massages, and pedicures in the couples’ suite ($465). Guests may add on use of the Hydro-Lounge with steam eucalyptus room, gourmet chocolates, Champagne, fruit, and cheese for $99.

Magnolia Spa

Where: At the Savannah Marriott River-front, 100 General McIntosh Blvd.; www.csspagroup.com/magnolia or (912) 373-2039. (You don’t have to be a guest to use the spa.)

Atmosphere: Nestled into a corner of the hotel’s atrium, Magnolia offers serene locker areas complete with sauna and steam rooms.

Specialties: Try the AromaStone facial ($100) that massages with warm and cool smooth stones. Walk out all aglitter from an 85-minute Golden Body Ritual ($135). After exfoliating and massaging your body, the therapist lightly rubs gold-flecked body oil into your skin and dusts you in a shimmering powder. You’ll look―and feel―like a million dollars.
