Tootsie's Toddy

The bartender: Lu Brow of New Orleans
The drink:
A warming elixir made with rye whiskey that smacks of sugar and spice.
The ingredients: Cloves, raisins, rye whiskey, simple syrup, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
Where to find Lu: Café Adelaide and The Swizzle Stick Bar, New Orleans 300 Poydras Street; cafeadelaide.com or 504-595-3305
Lu’s approach: Glamour and nostalgia―vintage cocktails, such as the sidecar, Hemingway daiquiri, and whiskey smash, prepared perfectly.
