The Sunshine State serves up plenty of seafood with a side of stunning views. Start your days off right with some of our favorite local flavor.

Lido Beach Resort Sarasota

It's all about the view here at this high-rise restaurant buffet ($33; $17, ages 12 and under) on the Gulf of Mexico. Grab a seat beside a window (we like tables 50, 51, and 52) and gaze for miles from your eighth-floor perch. Highlights include the snapper with citrus beurre blanc, marinated jerk pork tenderloin, and a lighter-than-air bread pudding. 700 Ben Franklin Drive; lidobeachresort.com or 941/388-2161

The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach Palm Beach

Start with the bottomless mimosas made with freshly squeezed oranges ($18). If the drinks don't soften the blow of the $38 price ($19, ages 6-11), remember you're enjoying the glitz of the Ritz without shelling out for a whole night. Kids adore the mini pancake bar, where they can pick out toppings such as banana-maple compote and warm sugarcane syrup. 100 South Ocean Blvd.; templeorangepalmbeach.com

Island Way Grill Clearwater Beach

Although this dockside restaurant's $24 buffet ($9, ages 10 and under) features high-end novelties (made-to-order sushi, Gulf oysters, bottomless cappuccinos, and fresh-pressed waffle cones filled with bananas Foster), half the clientele arrive in bare feet. Owner Frank Chivas is known among local fishermen for directly buying the freshest catch possible. Try the Gulf oysters, peel-and-eat shrimp, or the smoked amberjack fish spread with a dash of hot sauce. 20 Island Way; islandwaygrill.com

Bohemian Hotel Celebration Celebration

This upscale restaurant and Bloody Mary bar let you custom craft your own signature Mary with more than 20 possible ingredients. The Champagne brunch ($35; $16, ages 12 and under) offers Creole peel-and-eat shrimp and a meat-carving station in addition to cooked-to-order omelets and eggs Benedict. 700 Bloom Street; celebrationhotel.com or 407/566-6000

Tacolu Jacksonville Beach

This flip-flop-casual Mexican restaurant offers a Baja-inspired take on brunch. We love the "Don Patrol" ($9), a breakfast quesadilla with chorizo, black beans, shredded Jack cheese, fried eggs, and hash browns. Feel free to bring the kids, kick back, and let the salsa flow! 1712 Beach Blvd.; tacolu.com or 904/249-8226
