Millions of people flock to Ocean City, Maryland, each year, and the reason is right there in the name. This popular coastal town occupies a narrow spit of sand that stretches some 10 miles, from the Maryland-Delaware state line to the inlet where the Sinepuxent Bay meets the Atlantic. It's almost completely surrounded by water.
To the uninitiated, the city itself looks like miles and miles of high rises and strip malls, punctuated by chain restaurants and miniature golf. But take a closer look. In addition to the traditional attractions we've always loved, the city now boasts some surprisingly sophisticated dining, lodging, and nightlife. That alone makes this a great time to revisit Ocean City.
