Charitable Christian Medical Clinic Named as Recipient of Proceeds Birmingham, Ala. – (May 11, 2007) – Southern Living magazine and Deltic Timber Corporation have named Charitable Christian Medical Clinic (CCMC) to be the recipient of a portion of the proceeds from the 2007 Southern Living Idea House in Hot Springs in the community of Red Oak Ridge. Named by the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce as the 2006 organization of the year, the Charitable Christian Medical Clinic treats uninsured and chronically ill patients, providing an invaluable service to the community. The clinic was founded in 1997 by Dr. John Wayne Smith and functions solely on donations. “We are excited and extremely appreciative to have been chosen by Deltic Timber and Southern Living magazine as a recipient of funds raised by tours of the Idea House,” said Mili Lopez, CCMC Administrator. “We believe our program is one of the most generous in the state, and we shall continue to evaluate, improve, and expand our services to meet the needs of the medically underserved.” “As the number of Arkansans without health insurance continues to rise, the Charitable Christian Medical Clinic family—doctors, pharmacists, nurses and the many other volunteers—has endeavored to expand its program to help more people get the health care they need,” said Dr. John Crenshaw, CCMC Board President. “Our mission would not be possible without the help of organizations such as Deltic Timber and Southern Living.” “The selection of CCMC as our designated charity for the Idea House project is consistent with our long-time support of this outstanding institution,” said Ray Dillon, president and CEO of Deltic Timber Corporation. “We hope visitors from across the country will come to Hot Springs and Red Oak Ridge not only to see the home, but also support this fine local charity.” This is the first time Southern Living has chosen Arkansas and the community of Hot Springs to be a location for a Southern Living Idea House. The 4,718 square-foot home will be open to the public for tours June 9 – Sept. 30 and will be featured in the August 2007 issue of Southern Living magazine. Admission is $5 at the door. The Idea House is open 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday (closed Monday-Tuesday). Nestled in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains near Lakes Hamilton and Catherine, this stately brick home evokes old-world elegance with Georgian and French architectural influences. Designed by renowned residential designer Rick Gary of Plano, Texas, a large open terrace greets visitors and welcomes them into the home. Amenities in the Red Oak Ridge development include more than 800 gated acres of natural beauty offering estate-size residences, as well as a beautiful garden-home living, all with meandering trails, two private fishing lakes and a private pool. Better still, it’s all just a stone’s throw from Hot Springs’ business, medical, professional and retail amenities.
