Project Plan: Slab Table
No one knows why these tall, simple sideboards were called slabs. Perhaps it was because the top was often made from a single piece, or slab, of wood.

To duplicate the look of the 150-year-old original, the piece was finished with milk paint, followed by a special coating to give it a crackle finish. The plans for this table include detailed instructions.
