Getting your family to eat healthfully doesn’t have to be a chore. We have the solution: Sneak it past them. Carefully hidden in these tasty recipes is a bounty of nutritious ingredients your picky eaters may even grow to love. They’ll be eating better, and you’ll feel good about it.

Healthy Benefits
Flax seed is high in fiber, antioxidants (called lignans), and essential omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol. One tablespoon will often meet the daily recommendation for omega-3 fatty acids.
Cooking for your family can help develop a taste for new ingredients and flavor profiles. Plus it allows more control over daily calories, protein, fat, and sodium than eating out.

"Sneak in the Good Stuff" is from the April 2008 issue of Southern Living.
